about me
Hi there! I'm Pamela!

I'm a writer, editor, artist,
and educator
living in the Boston area.
I'm also a mother, a dog person,
and a recovering perfectionist.

My Brownie Girl Scout troop leader referred to me a "firecracker,"
my brothers call me a "crafty witch,"
my favorite high school English teacher described me as "definitely melancholic,"
and a random dude at a party once told me,
"When you tell a story, it's like every sentence ends with an exclamation point,"
all of which are not inaccurate descriptions.
writing
In my personal projects, I typically let form find me,
and I write creative non-fiction, poetry, fiction, scripts for stage and screen, and digital texts.

I’m currently working on a memoir about
loss and grief, sickness and health, family and lineage,
and how we live with uncertainty.

I also have several years of experience working as a "full stack" writer, editor, and content specialist,
with work including:
UX writing for consumer health apps, health and lifestyle articles and related microcopy,
social media content, consumer emails and newsletters, B2C and B2C marketing materials,
enterprise partner materials, brand partner ad copy,
presentation and pitch decks, blog posts,
interviews, and scripts.
other projects
The Shape of Grief: A Library of Loss
is an ongoing project in which I gather works that explore
life after loss and how we live with grief.
You can visit it here.

I'm currently weaving a years' worth of plastic waste
that my family of four produced during the pandemic into, well, something.
Let's call it art.

And sometimes I work with friends to make film and theater.

I parent, I paint, I weave, I cook, I collage, I craft, I garden, I draw, I sew,
I believe that we all create everyday and that this is art too.

more about me
I studied English and theater at UMass Amherst
and writing and literature at Harvard University and Emerson College.

I taught writing at Emerson College,
including classes in genre-based composition, the art of the essay,
student-driven research writing exploring how the personal is political,
as well as fiction, scriptwriting for stage and screen, and poetry.

I also worked as a writing specialist and writing tutor at several Boston-area colleges and universities.

Most recently I've worked as a writer, editor, and content specialist,
with my work focused on women's health, reproductive health, mental health,
pregnancy, the postpartum period, parenting, and child development.
